On August 14, Social Security celebrated its 78th birthday. I can’t imagine anyone whose life has not been positively impacted by this program, either directly or indirectly. Maybe there is a grandparent who has been able to live in dignified retirement rather than poverty, thanks to that well-earned monthly check.
